E-commerce & Marketing Manager

Following the exciting launch of our brand new e-commerce website, we are now recruiting for an experienced E-commerce and Marketing Manager to lead online sales growth. The primary purpose of the role will be the management and adoption of our e-commerce platform by both trade and retail customers, and the subsequent increase in sales, order lines and content.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Ensuring that all relevant products, descriptions & images are displayed for customers.
  • Liaising with other areas of the business to develop and run promotions and relevant content.
  • Ensuring that the website reflects the company’s operational ways of working and capability.
  • Continuous improvement of website KPI’s. Most notably; sales across all branches and adoption amongst customers and staff.
  • Developing a detailed plan and targets for e-Commerce adoption in the customer base including customer on-boarding activities, marketing materials, sales activities etc.
  • Supporting the Sales Managers and Branch teams with customer take up of online sales.
  • Creating and maintaining content on the website reflecting the aims and strategies of the business and customer sales opportunities.
  • Segmenting the customer database and working in partnership with the Sales Managers and Branch teams to target the most receptive customer types and convert these customers to using and placing orders via the website.
  • Optimising search results based on Google analytics insights.
  • Training Customer Services representatives, Sales Managers and Branch teams on the advantages or e-Commerce.
  • Monitoring and escalating technical issues.
  • Managing and developing the company’s social media presence
  • Assisting other Department Head’s with print and digital marketing as required

Qualifications, experience and personal profile:

The successful candidate will hold a BA or BS degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing or Business Administration, as well as formal e-Commerce qualifications. Technical and/or website design and optimization qualifications are also highly desirable.

The following experience will also be essential for succeeding in this role:

  • Experience in Magento e-Commerce (preferably Magento 2) & PIM.
  • A Successful track record of running, launching and optimising e-Commerce platforms.
  • Project management experience.

It would also be highly desirable if the successful candidate had the following additional experience:

  • Content skills both product, copy, content and media.
  • PHP, Photoshop and other design tools
  • Experience working in the plumbing materials sector

It is imperative that the successful candidate is self-motivated, has strong desire to improve the customer experience and is results driven. They will also:

  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Possess excellent data analysis skills, including Excel and MS Office mastery, and be able to deal with complex and multiple source data, build insights and prioritise activities based on available data.
  • Have a strong understanding of e-Commerce and Content Administration Tools – Magento 2 & PIM systems.
  • Have a strong understanding of sales, marketing, logistics and operational processes.
  • Have knowledge of sales support technologies such as CRM, BI and ERP.
  • Be able to communicate and successfully influence at all levels of the business

Assistant Branch Manager (Sittingbourne)

We are currently recruiting for a sales-driven Assistant Manager to work at our Sittingbourne branch. Playing a key role in supporting the Branch Manager and championing branch sales growth, main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing a high level of customer service on the trade counter
  • Building lasting relationships with existing customers and successfully winning new customers
  • Maximising all sales opportunities and promoting key product lines
  • Providing regular administrative support to the Branch Manager as required
  • Leading the team in the absence of the Branch Manager
  • Assisting with the training and development of staff
  • Assisting with chasing up overdue payments from customers
  • Assisting in the warehouse with stock control and branch transfers

Experience in a similar supervisory or management role would be preferable. A strong sales background in the plumbing, heating or building sectors will be essential, as will strong organisation, sales negotiation and administrative skills. You will also enjoy responsibility and be able to motivate and successfully lead a team.

Area Sales Manager (West Kent & Sussex)

Ultimately responsible for profitable sales growth across our Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Uckfield and East Grinstead branches, we are now looking for an experienced Area Sales Manager to join the Drakes team.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Growing the number of Drakes key account customers;
  • Building relationships with customers to increase sales or initiate new business;
  • Managing key accounts as agreed with Branch Managers;
  • Actively promoting key products, achieving incremental sales increases accordingly ;
  • Supervising the quotation process and ensuring customer expectations are met;
  • Contributing new ideas and ways of expanding our current sales portfolio.

This is an exciting and potentially lucrative role for an existing Area Sales or Business Development Manager who is well organised and target-driven. The successful candidate will:

  • Have a proven field sales track record within the plumbing & heating market;
  • Have previously sold to both commercial and domestic customers and have a strong network of contacts accordingly;
  • Be professional and have strong interpersonal skills;
  • Be well organised with a proven time-management skills.

Following the recent launch of our e-commerce website and customer loyalty scheme, this is an incredibly exciting time to join the company. The successful candidate will have all the tools and support to achieve significant incremental sales increases and flourish in the Area Sales Manager role.

Area Sales Manager (East Kent)

Ultimately responsible for profitable sales growth across our Gillingham, Sittingbourne, Ashford and Whitstable branches, we are now looking for an experienced Area Sales Manager to join the Drakes team.

  • Managing key accounts as agreed with Branch Managers;
  • Actively promoting key products, achieving incremental sales increases accordingly ;

Trade Counter Sales Assistant, Uckfield

We are currently recruiting for an energetic Trade Counter Sales Assistant to join our very busy Uckfield branch. Working as part of a small team you will provide a friendly and knowledgeable service to customers and maximise all sales opportunities. Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Offering reliable product advice
  • Producing and following-up on accurate customer quotations
  • Building lasting relationships with key account customers and maximising sales opportunities accordingly
  • Promoting key products and optimising sales opportunities accordingly
  • Assisting the branch in winning new business
  • Assisting in the warehouse and driving the branch van as required

 

Knowledge of plumbing and heating parts is essential for this role, as is a positive and friendly demeanour, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
