Water Saving Solutions
It is Drakes Plumbing Supplies policy to supply best practice water saving solutions to all its customers. This is in line with the current Part G building regulations and where appropriate, the design categories of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
These water saving solutions include:
- Tap & shower flow regulating devices – These are a cheap and easy way to save water in the cloakroom, bathroom and en-suite. Fitting a flow regulator can reduce tap flow rates to as little as 2Ltrs a minute and showers to 6Ltrs a minute.
- Low volume dual flushing toilets – The average family uses a third of its water flushing the toilet (approx two baths of water every day) with toilets now available using as little as 4/2.6Ltr per flush you could use up to 70% less water compared to an average 9 to 11Ltr one.
- Low volume baths – Modern designs available with capacities as low as 140Ltrs but still a good soak.
- Grey water recycling systems – Recycling basin, bath and showering water to be re-used for toilet flushing.
- Rainwater harvesting – Collecting and storing rainwater from your roof to be re-used for flushing toilets, washing the car and watering the garden.
All these solutions not only save water but also the home occupier money too.
