Compression fittings comprise of a threaded body, a nut and an olive or compression ring, when using a compression fitting on plastic pipe ensure that a pipe insert is used in the pipe end prior to inserting the fitting to the pipe, it is also recommended that a copper olive is used when making a compression joint as copper is softer than a brass olive.
When the nut is tightened it squeezes the olive around the pipe and forms a watertight seal, use 2 spanners when tightening the fitting, one to hold the fitting and the other to use on the nut, do not over tighten. A full range of fittings in all sizes comparable to end feed are available. For further information on the product range and for additional information on jointing please refer to the manufactures recommendations.
