Boilers come in many sizes and types this page has been designed to assist you in your selection.

Combi

Also known as a combination boiler.
Provides instant hot water as well as heating.
Does not require cold water storage.
No hot water cylinder required.
Open Vent

Traditional system, requiring a header tank and an open vent.
Utilizes a storage cylinder to supply hot water.

System

Does not require cold water storage.
Utilizes an unvented hot water storage cylinder.

Building Regulations Part L

Part L of the Building Regulations will be upgraded from April 2005 to allow only A and B rated boilers for both new and replacement work.

Currently you can obtain SE (standard efficiency) and HE (high efficiency) boilers, HE, will be the only type of boiler compliant to part L as from April 2005.
This means that most new and replacement boilers will need to be high efficiency condensing models from April 2005.
