The advantage of Alutec Aluminium Rainwater Systems
The Alutec range of aluminium gutters from Marley consists of ten gutter profiles and five different downpipe options. The unique and patented Aligator® ‘snap fit’ jointing system, first launched in 1995, has proved very successful and is preferred by specifiers and installers refinement is continually taking place using the latest technology and manufacturing techniques. Alutec aluminium gutters are available in sleek modern profiles, using the Aligator® ‘snap fit’ method of concealed* jointing and support brackets or traditional styles, emulating cast iron in appearance and even available with a special textured black polyester powder coating - conservation black.Marley Alutec Rainwater
The Alutec range of gutters and downpipes are available in ‘mill’ (unpainted) finish or with a polyester powder coating available in 20 factory applied standard colours. Non standard RAL colours are also available on request. Polyester powder coating (PPC) involves a number of stages: firstly, stringent preparation of the aluminium substrate is necessary allowing the successful electrostatic application of the powder paint. This is followed by oven curing. The result is a durable, even finish which will last for more than 40 years. All paint finishes are to BS 6496 and applied by an ISO9001 accredited applicator or manufacturer.
Traditional systems
The Alutec Traditional systems are designed specifically for replacement or to give a traditional feel to a new building. Half round and Victorian Ogee are available in 3 sizes, both profiles are compatible in profile, size and tolerances to that of cast iron and hence are completely interchangeable. 5 X 4 Ogee which is used extensively in Scotland has a deep ogee profile. Traditional gutters can be fixed directly to the fascia, via fascia brackets or rafter arms. Flat rigid aluminium mesh leaf guards in 1.2m lengths are available for all gutter profiles.
Downpipe systems
Five different downpipe options are available, each with a different capacity, shape or application and to suit the range of gutters. Circular downpipe is manufactured in two styles, traditional and modern (Vortex®). The traditional range with factory fitted die cast sockets is available in 63mm, 76mm and 102mm diameters. The Vortex® system, manufactured from 1.63mm heavy grade extruded aluminium and with integrally formed pipe sockets is available in 63mm and 76mm diameters. A range of traditionally styled square and rectangular downpipes are available in 72mm2, 102mm2 and 102 X 76mm. A Vandal Resistant downpipe system is also made in these sizes. Direct back to wall fixing with no projecting profiles renders the pipe ‘non climbable’. Designed for a top to bottom installation sequence, no sealing of joints is necessary. A range of hoppers with the different downpipe spigot sizes and shapes are offered in three styles: Triangular (flat back), Rectangular and Ornamental.
